Miles, who was born in Kettering, returned to the County from Hong Kong in January, and has made dramatic progress. In February he competed in the Hong Kong CTTA Tournament, covering the whole UK, in Sheffield and although he was the youngest competitor he won the Under 13 event. Since then he has won various Singles and Doubles titles in the Northampton League and County Closed Tournaments, been very successful in the Regional trials and the ETTA National Regional Squad finals, been selected for the East Midlands High Performance Squad and then the England Under 12 Training Squad at Lilleshall. Miles, who now plays for the County at Junior and Cadet level, has quickly moved up the rankings to No 3 in England at Under 11 and has recently achieved Runner-Up (to Sam Mabey) in the National Under 11s final.
Miles, like Sam, is seen by the England coaches, as a future England player.
