Congratulations to Barry Thompson and his team on finishing the day undefeated despite the team being weakened by a couple of players being unavailable and Jack Coleman's decision to play against higher ranked players at County Junior level. Replacement, ten year old Miles Chan however starred with six wins out of six and is clearly a star for the future. However every member of the team did well and all won at least one match. Also a big thanks to Wendy Hancock who generously gave up her Saturday to transport the three Northampton boys to and from the match. A great team spirit and success all round.

On this occasion opportunities are being given to young, up and coming players to obtain experience of playing at County level. It is a particularly young and talented team with three players only ten years old. Hopefully these will be around to represent Northamptonshire, and very successfully, for many years to come.

Well done to Barry Thompson and his young, inexperienced team who gained valuable experience against some strong opposition. We decided to bring in four newcomers and three ten year olds for experience and the County will surely benefit from this in the future.
