COUNTY JUNIOR SQUAD 2008-09 The County Junior Squad dates for 2008-09 season will be on the following Sundays from 9.30am to 12.30pm : 26 October, 2 November, 23 November and 7 December. This year we have three England internationals available to our County teams and we are seeking to obtain higher levels of commitment from all members of our County Junior Squad. All potential members will be asked to provide details of the level of commitment they are prepared to offer next season as regards league play, practice, tournaments, British/National league etc. An England Ranking will be expected.

PRESS RELEASE A sponsorship deal has been agreed by the Northants County Table Tennis Association with local transport firm J & K Transport. The sponsorship covers the County Junior Squad for personal results Log Books for each member to enable them to record certain competitive matches, plus physical training tests which will be undertaken at Training Camp sessions. From time to time the coaching staff will inspect the members' Log Books to look at their results and make an assessment of their progress. COUNTY TRAINING CAMPS 2007-08 This year the most advanced players in the county at Under 18 and Under 15 level, who will be in contention for places in the Northamptonshire County Junior and Cadet teams, will attend Training Camps at convenient dates prior to the County Championship matches. These sessions will hopefully lead to improved performances in terms of technical performance, tactics and fitness and help build up a competitive and supportive squad spirit. The Training Camps will be held at Kingsthorpe Grove P S sports hall on the following dates: Sunday 30 September 2007 Sunday 18 November 2007 and will be for 4 hours from 9am to 1pm. The coaches at the first session will be Ian Bird and Gary Webb.The second session will be at the same venue and at the same time on Sunday 18 November. The coaches will be Ian Bird and Andy Wood and the subsidised cost will again be £5. Those invited and to be considered for selection to represent the County are listed below.
PRESS RELEASE The Northants County Table Tennis Association have reached an agreement with their Sponsors EBS (UK) Orange, the multi million pound organisation who are the largest distributors of the mobile phone network Three and Orange in the UK. They will give major funding to a Junior Elite Squad commencing in March 2006 for the next three years as well as providing clothing, which will display the logos of EBS and Orange, to be worn in training and on the Junior Open Tournament circuit. A Head Coach and a Player/Coach have been appointed who will be responsible for their squad training; also in the pipeline are international players who will bring their expertise to the squad on certain session dates. The overall running of the squad will be under the guidance of a Squad Manager namely Dave Rees the County Coaching Officer. The Chairman of the Sponsors, EBS (UK) Orange, is very keen to help the youngsters selected to improve their potential with this unique sponsorship and is looking forward to the extension of his Company's partnership with the County Association. THE ELITE SQUAD This has been set up to improve the standards of Northamptonshire Junior table tennis as reflected in the County Championships and the County and England rankings. Selections have been made on the basis of a number of criteria such as current Under 18, 15, 13 and 11 rankings, commitment and potential. Age is important as obviously younger players have longer in the squad to improve. The number selected has had, of course, to be restricted and some will have been unlucky to have just missed out. The County Squad will continue however so that anyone with the right qualities and making marked improvement can be added at a later date. . ALWAYS NOTIFY THE SQUAD MANAGER IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND SO THAT A REPLACEMENT CAN BE CALLED UP.
