Match results Week 6 (Final Week) No Spin Vinay 0 Team Ping Pong 5 Vinay took Jake to a deciding end before losing 6-11 in a close fought game. He also took Ryan to 4 after scraping the opening game 12-10. US 0 Panthers 5 US 0 Tigers 5 Dan Simson was up against it tonight when his partner failed to show because of illness. Robert and Joe of Panthers, as expected finish the league with 100% record. Tigers 5 The Dudes 0 Tigers clinched 2nd place in the league when The Dudes failed to show for a 2nd time. The organisers have decided to deduct points from them as well as awarding the points to their opposition. Week 5 US 0 Team Ping Pong 5 Dan and Jack were always going to find the going tough against the more experienced team of Ryan and Jake Tigers 0 Panthers 5 The match of the night was undoubtedly the clash of the titans! The first game saw Jon Marsh taking County player Robert Griffin to 5 and after a closely contested game Robert won 10-12, 12-10, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6. The 2nd and 3rd games saw Joe Burrows ease his way pass Ben and Jon which left Robert to keep his unbeaten record in singles by defeating Ben. The winning duo then went on to take the doubles to clinch the league title with a game in hand. The Meads 5 The Hot Dragons 0 The Meads put in their sister this evening to partner Euan and what a move that turned out to be with Bryony beating both AJ and his brother Arron. Euan made light work of both the Lewis brothers. Ping Pong Power 2 The Meads 3 In their 2nd encounter the Meads got the upper hand this time with the doubles to clinch the match. The ever improving Thomas Knight took both his singles and Euan and Bryony both beat Alex. Week 4 Tigers 5 No Spin Vinay 0 (Jonathan Marsh and Ben Popely were not extended in their match, although Richard Billingham played well to take an end off Ben) Panthers 5 Team Ping Pong 0 (Panthers maintain their unbeaten record with Joe easing through his matches but Robert Griffin was taken the full distance by Ryan Haskins 11-6,8-11,9-11,11-7,11-8) US 5* The Dudes 0 (points awarded to US for non appearance of opposition) Ping Pong Power 3 The Hot Dragons 2 (AJ Lewis got his revenge on Thomas Knight and was unbeaten on the night. However it was Thomas and Alex who held their nerve in the doubles taking the deciding end 11-8 to clinch the match) Week 3 The Dudes 1 No Spin Vinay 4 (The Dudes gained their first point of the season when Matt Page defeated Vinay Mistry 11-6, 7-11, 11-7, 11-3) Ping Pong Power 3 The Meads 2 (Euan Mead was undefeated on the evening and the result hinged on the doubles which went the distance which Thomas and Alex won 6-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 11-4) Week 2 US 0 No Spin Vinay 5 (Dan Simpson’s return found his lack of practice telling. Jack took both Vinay and Richard to close scores in games but it did not really extend them.) Tigers 4 Team Ping Pong 1 (All but 2 games needing a deciding end. Jonathan coming out on top with 11-9 and 12-10 in his deciding ends. Jake Roberts gaining a valuable point when defeating Ben 7-11, 8-11, 11-9, 15-13,11-9 ) The Dudes 0 Panthers 5 All games going as expected and neither Robert or Joe were extended in their doubles. Matt Page and Robert Gorman took an end in the doubles) The Meads 5 The Hot Dragons 0 (Lack of concentration in umpiring by the Meads saw this match last the full 2 hours. However both Arron and his brother AJ passed their Umpiring practical during their turn of umpiring) Week 1 No Spin Vinay 0 Panthers 5 (No up-sets here and no game going beyond 3rd end) Ping Pong Power 5 Team Ping Pong 0 (Some close games and Matt Page was unlucky against Ryan Haskins losing 2-11, 10-12, 11-1, 11-6, 14-16) Ping Pong Power 3 The Hot Dragons 2 Thomas Knight played very well to beat AJ Lewis 4-11, 11-7, 11-3, 11-13, 11-4. The Hot Dragons combined well to take the doubles
